| | | Why is the site called SleepMonsters? | | | | Well, we like it, and it's memorable too. You won't forget the name now will you?
It makes more sense than going to Amazon.com for books or Yahoo for news too. If you are a racer you may already have met the SleepMonsters.
In long multi-day races teams sometimes sleep only an hour or two a day while competing on tough courses in extreme terrain. The lack of sleep takes it's toll.
Every step, every action, and every decision becomes harder, taking place in slow motion. It's a battle not to lay down, to keep eyelids open, not to give in to sleep ... not to give in to the SleepMonsters.
So now you know, that's where the name came from. (And yes, we did design our logo before Monster Inc. hit the cinemas and little horned monsters appeared on every cereal packet and burger wrapper in the known universe.) | | |
